Mek-IT-Tronics (Mechatronics Domain Group)

Mechatronics (Mek-IT-Tronics) is an interdisciplinary domain of engineering that focuses on the mixing of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering systems. This also includes a combination of robotics, computer science, information technology, control, and product engineering, haptic and tactile devices, and telecommunications systems. This domain aims to design and develop products by applying interdisciplinary knowledge in development. To work on the principle of recycle-reuse-reproduce to make it cost-effective, sustainable, and easy to fix at the end-user. The developed product and skills are capable of meeting the needs of social challenges through the application of cutting-edge technology to better people's lives. This can be achieved through quality technical interactions and networking of like-minded people in the surrounding. The knowledge acquired through workshops, seminars, training programs, internships, in the domain can be further transformed into product and job opportunities.

Objectives:
    1. Improve interpersonal, intrapersonal skills of students, faculty, participants through industry interactions, technical training programs, workshops, courses, research, and development.
    2. Identify, define, and interpret technical/societal problems that can be addressed by the acquired knowledge and observations in the domain.
    3. Collaborate as an individual or in group to publish research projects and work carried out in reputed journals, apply for IPR and patents.
    4. Build confidence in students to set up a startup/business, sought consultancy to the industry.
    5. Appraise internships, placements, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and research work.
Areas of the Interest of the Group Include but not limited to:
    1. Electronics and Electrical circuits and systems (Analog/digital)
    2. Mechanical systems
    3. Instrumentation and Control system engineering
    4. 3D printing

Consultancy under Chartered Engineer Certification
The Chartered Engineer certificate is often useful for the following purpose:-
• To be empanelled as Valuer, Loss Assessor in various financial institutions like Bank, Insurance companies etc.
• To be empanelled as Chartered Engineer in the Original Side of High Courts, Central Excise and Customs and other similar govt concerns.
• To get contract of works from Municipal Corporation and similar govt bodies.
• To be employed and/or promoted in foreign companies.
• To practice as self-employed consultant in India and abroad.
In general, the Chartered Engineer certificate issued plays the role of recognition and acceptance of one’s techno-academic qualification and professional attainment on a global platform.
The Role of Chartered Engineers in Import and Export of Machinery/ Goods/ Hardware- Software in India:
Chartered engineers are important when it comes to getting a clearance for machinery and other shipments. Clearance is needed in order to facilitate a hassle free import and export of the shipments like old machinery or used plants. Many growing businesses are not aware of the rules related to export and import of machinery/ goods/ gadgets.
